AR.ANKUR PANDEY & ASSOCIATES is a multidisciplinary architecture, interior design, landscaping and urban planning firm. The firm works at multiple scales and with various organizations right from private clients to corporate & NGOs.
This allows them to experiment and diversify work: master planning, architectural & interior projects, such as luxury villas, high-end residences and unique offices, as well as hospitality & institutional projects, several charitable works including earthquake and cyclone proof buildings.
My design approach is to reconnect architecture with nature, make optimum use of space, natural materials, lighting & landscape to reinvent and transform living environments and urban spaces. The firm strives to create a design that inspires, approaching each project, regardless of size & scale, with an understanding that architecture has a unique power to influence lifestyle and society. Their forte is attention to detail and customization. Honesty to design, client satisfaction, and sustainability are the driving forces, along with the ability to constantly explore & evolve. They are dedicated to unique design approaches adapted to each project, and achieving a balance between functionality & aesthetics, context, climate, material, cost & time-frame.
INTRODUCTION
By embracing a humanistic approach that considers not only a client’s needs and site considerations, but also the cultural and economic environment, solutions are realized that are contextual, yet conceptual and visionary in their intent, effect, and appeal.
Projects emphasize conceptual experience by creating environments that are both socially responsive and aesthetically progressive. The forces of volumetric landscapes, material integrity, and the sculpting of natural light, as well as the purity of spatial volumes, create solutions to the pragmatic requirements of the client.

Contextual Working

Honesty with Materials
If architecture is the statement, materials are the words: how we communicate through our design. We choose materials based on their particular properties and rarely try to alter or conceal them. Materials can express the relationship of the project to the site, to the landscape, or to an idea. Through materials, we can define qualities of space to suit a specific use and our major concern is to attain sustainability with material reuse.
Merging Nature with Concrete
As part of our process to connect each project to its surroundings, we often work to blend interior and exterior spaces into a single dynamic fluid experience. We aim to provide opening rooms onto concealed courtyards, or pulling the landscape into the home through hardscapes & indoor gardens, we aim to infuse natural light, air, and views throughout as much of the interior as possible.
Space within a Space
We often seek to create a sense of space expanding beyond physical bounds. Overlapping functional zones can lead to open floor plans, Double heightened area, merging nature with the building which provides opportunities not only for borrowed views which hint of space beyond but also for flexibility which can transform spaces. We can divide spaces with flexible constructions that conceal or reveal a variety of functions, to allow possibilities of unity or compartmentalization within a single space. thus we get a Space within a Space.
Expression of Technique
A physical characteristic can connect the project to its site and contribute to its unique identity. On every project, we develop custom details, which are inspired by the materials we use, analysis of the context, and performance. We see each detail as an opportunity to express our ingenuity, as we seek the most direct and honest approach to a problem, in pursuit of an elegant solution.
Sculpted Light
We work on Daylighting to maximize its usage, as the light changes, so change the experience of space and the design becomes a living thing. One of our most valued and powerful design resources is natural light, as a means of directing focus, highlighting materials, and creating experiences. The power of light is both psychological and physical, as light greatly influences both mood and well-being. We strive to incorporate multiple sources of natural light within every project, to foster a richly varied experience.
